According to a September 29 ETV Bharat report, police in Champawat district have arrested two men for allegedly duping unemployed youth with promises of jobs in the army. Police registered a case under Section 318(4) of the Indian Penal Code. Investigators said other youths may have been defrauded through the same scheme. The arrest followed a sting in which Dheeraj called the complainant to an army area in Banbasa on the pretext of handing over an appointment letter and conducting biometric tests.
