Two of the four were allotted seats at Government Medical College, Haridwar, and two at Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Institute of Medical Science and Research, Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal, under the OBC women, orphan and SC women reserved categories. The university says all state-quota admissions remain provisional until certificates are verified, with the process continuing alongside the third round of NEET UG counselling.

Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya has demanded a high-level, impartial investigation into alleged irregularities in reserved-category NEET-UG 2026 MBBS seat allocations in Uttarakhand, saying accountability should not stop at junior employees and that the role of responsible officials must also be probed. He has called for physical and digital verification of certificates of all candidates who secured seats in Round-1 and Round-2 under SC, ST, OBC, EWS and other reserved categories, through the district magistrate or competent authority, and said doubtful caste and domicile certificates should be independently verified.

The cancelled seats span five government medical colleges: five at Government Medical College Haldwani, four at VCSG Government Institute of Medical Science and Research Srinagar, three at Government Medical College Haridwar, two at Government Medical College Doon, and one at Government Medical College Almora. Affected candidates had been admitted under OBC, SC, orphan and EWS categories; some had opted for the float option allowing upgrades in later rounds. The university acted on Monday evening, before Round-3 registration began on Tuesday.
