Uttarakhand's Special Summary Revision of Voter Rolls to Begin November 12
Uttarakhand's Chief Electoral Officer has announced a Special Summary Revision of voter rolls starting November 12, ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
Current Summary
Uttarakhand Chief Electoral Officer BVRC Purushottam said on Thursday that the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls for 2027 will begin across the state on November 12, with January 1, 2027 set as the qualifying date. At an all-party meeting with representatives of recognised national parties, Purushottam briefed them on the SSR procedure and schedule, which officials say is expected to help first-time voters and those deleted during the earlier, contested Special Intensive Revision (SIR) get back on the rolls. He also outlined the First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail machines, which begins statewide on Friday, ahead of the early-2027 state elections. Purushottam said his office received 100,744 Form 6 applications for fresh voter inclusion during a week-long drive from October 12 to 20. Citizens turning 18 on or before January 1, 2027 will be eligible to register during the revision. The draft electoral roll will be published November 12, with claims and objections accepted between November 12 and December 11 and hearings continuing through December 28. The final electoral roll is due to be published January 4, 2027.
